Sample Grouping Scenario
The scenario below outlines the teacher's and students' roles in the terms
of a film crew. It is designed for groups of five students, but roles could
be modified or combined for smaller groups.
Benefits of this kind of scenario:

her
Teacher’s Role

- plans project, creates production schedule
- provides training to members of film crew
- evaluates progress of project through assessments
- oversees personnel management

Students’ Roles

- in charge of managing group interactions
- works with cinematographer to lay out and film shots
- works with writer to edit dialogue and plan casting
- consults with film editor and sound director during post-production

- in charge of video filming and capture

- idits video using iMovie
- collaborates with Recordist during editing
|
 |
- oversees voice recording and sound effects
- selects music
- collaborates with video editor to insert audio tracks and titles
|
 |
- in charge of writing dialogue based on members’ storyboards
- in charge of still pictures during filming and editing (in addition to images
used in the video, this might include pictures of the production process itself
to document group’s work)
- selects cast and assigns roles to cast members
