Canon PowerShot A510 Digital Still Camera



Inserting the Multimedia Card
  1. Slide down and open the card cover on the bottom right side of the rear of the camera.
  2. Insert the MM card into the slot with the label facing you and the arrow pointing toward the top of the camera.
  3. Close the cover by shutting the hinge and sliding it toward the top of the camera.
Taking a Picture
  1. Press and hold the On/Off button on the top of the camera until the green indicator light on the left of the viewfinder begins blinking green.
  2. Move the mode switch to Shoot. The small bump on the switch should point to the camera icon.
  1. Set dial on the top of the camera to AUTO.
  2. Focus the camera by pressing the shutter button halfway down. The camera will beep once when the picture is in focus.
  1. Change the zoom by shifting the small knob on the ring that surrounds the shutter button. Moving it to the right will zoom in, and moving it to the left will zoom out.
  2. Press the shutter button all the way down to shoot the picture. You will hear a shutter sound when the picture has been taken. This may take two or three seconds.
  3. Press and the ON/OFF button to power down the camera. The camera will shut down on its own if it has not been used for three minutes.

Reviewing Pictures
  1. With the camera turned on, move the mode switch to Replay (the red arrow icon).
  2. Switch between images by pressing on the right or left side of te circular rocker button on the rear of the camera.
Deleting Images in Review Mode
  1. Select the image you want to delete.
  2. Press the FUNC button. The camera will ask you if you want to erase.
  3. Press the SET button to erase the image.

Importing Images into iPhoto
  1. Open the flexible plastic cover on the left side of the camera.
  2. Insert the smaller end of the USB cable in the matching port on the camera.
  3. Turn on the camera.
  4. Open iPhoto and begin importing.
