The human body is a complex system of cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems. The immune system has the task of protecting against microscopic invasion helping the body to maintain a balance or homeostasis for optimum health.
Diseases cause a loss of homeostasis in organisms including human body. Diseases can be found in the form of invaders like bacteria and viruses. These invaders can be transmitted through vectors or can be found in the air. Diseases can also be found in human DNA or chromosomes. These types of diseases are genetic in nature and could be a problem with the genetic code or from improper meiosis.
This Legacy Cycle will take you through the world of diseases and how humans have come to grips with our invisible foes.
The Center for Disease Control has uncovered different diseases that can effect the health of the citizens of the United State. Your job will be to discover the causes of these diseases and how they are now working their way through the population.
