The BIG IDEA for this cycle is to understand forces. This will be achieved by identifying the optimal combination of the following experimental variables: number of fins, fin design, and fin position. Through experimentation of these variables, we will study how balanced and unbalanced forces affect the vertical distance and range that a model rocket can achieve.  In other words, we will get to fly rockets in order to understand Newton's 2nd and 3rd Laws of Motion!
