Introduction to Tutorial Videos
From this page you can access the video clips that reflect the components of the tutorial program. The "Overview" video provides a general introduction to the tutoring plan.
You will be prompted to enter your user name and password. If you need to register for the system, follow the prompts. If you are already registered then just enter the information. Once you are logged into the system you can move easily from one video to the next.
If you enter through one of the component videos you will find a short "overview" video for that component and then one or more examples of the component to view.
Once the video has been launched you can pause or rewind at any time. Just below the video you will see a running transcription of the talk on the video. On the right hand side of the screen you will find some running annotations tied to the instruction.
In the text box just below the transcription you will find a space for you to enter your own commentary on the video. The task is for you to reflect on the actions taken. There may be valuing comments, questions, suggestions. The field is open for you to think about the instruction. The clips are not offered to represent the perfect or even the ideal. They are simply examples that can serve as the basis for conversation.
You can enter as much, or as little, text as you want. The text box will scroll down as you type.
When you have finished with the video and your commentary you can press "post this message". This action will post your commentary on a message board. If you press the "View all messages" link you can read what others have written about this video. If you wish to respond to someone else's posting this option is open to you. We have found that some who use these videos like to see the comments of others as they observe or even before. You have the option of looking at the other postings at any time.
Finally, you can move to other videos by clicking the "back to videos" link or you can go directly to other videos using the menu on the left.
