KAOS Children’s Hair Salon donated their time, patience, and creativity to assist UTAP in providing the first ever Sensory Sensitive Haircuts Day! Seventeen children arrived in intervals, and immediately engaged in vigorous gross motor play while their parents filled out sensory profiles and specific hairstyle instructions. The sensory profiles were used to find just the right interactive toy or piece of educational play equipment to accompany the client into the UTAP Salon. A few moms had tears in their eyes because of the success, a couple of kids enthusiastically squirmed, The University of Texas Students were phenomenal as they worked with each child individually, and the KAOS crew: calm, joyful, caring, a delight to work with, top notch! Thank you families and KAOS Children’s Hair Salon for making this day a remarkable success.
