HEALTH PROMOTION INTERNSHIPS

HED 627L: Undergraduate Internship in Health Promotion
   and Fitness

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Students should enroll in HED 627L: Internship in Health Promotion during their final academic semester. The internship experience gives students the opportunity to apply cumulative knowledge and skills in a supervised practicum in a community, worksite, health care, or school setting. A notebook containing information on potential internship sites and students’ evaluations of these sites is located in the academic advising office in Bellmont Hall (10th floor). Assistance with resume-writing skills, applying for internships and jobs, preparing for interviews, mock interviews, and informed decision–making strategies is offered at the Career Services Office, College of Education. APPLICATION PROCESS for Summer 2012

HED 627L: Internship in Community & Organizational Health (Health Promotion Major)
KIN 627L: Internship in Health Fitness (Health Fitness Instructor Specialization),
KIN 627L: Internship - Hospital Based (Medical Fitness & Rehabilitation Specialization)

Students planning to enroll in one of the internship courses listed above must have an overall GPA of 2.5 and complete the steps outlined below.

1. Complete an internship application ( Download Summer 2012 Application ).
2. Study the Internship Notebook and go over it with your Onsite Supervisor (Download Summer 2012 Notebook ).
3. Submit the completed application to Dr. Steinhardt (BEL 506).
