University Core Purpose: To transform lives for the benefit of society.
Our Core Purpose: To transform lives through resilience education.

We study how individuals build resilience and strength when challenged with change and chronic stressful situations. We have worked with such companies as 3M, Motorola, Dell, and Applied Materials, as well as the Army's 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. Our current research program focuses on promoting resilience-based diabetes self-management programs for African Americans, reducing teacher burnout among public school teachers, and enhancing the resilience of military soldiers and their families.
