Welcome to my personal webpage for this
journal. I decided to create this because there is information that
cannot be included as part of the Springer Publishing webpage. This
page is designed for potential authors who may consider submitting
their work to Educational Psychology Review (EPR).
EPR was founded in 1989 by the late Dr. John A. Glover. Glover's vision
of EPR was that it would mainly publish scholarly, integrative reviews
of the literature. That vision still holds true today. However, other
types of manuscripts are also welcome at EPR.
Let me first clarify the type of manuscript that is not welcome. Papers
whose main purpose is to describe findings of an original empirical
study are not appropriate for EPR. As its name implies, EPR is a review
journal and its main purpose is to publish secondary, not primary,
research. What is secondary research? Well, broadly defined, it
included scholarly articles that integrate, react to, or replicate
primary research studies.
In addition to review papers, EPR welcomes commentaries, interviews,
and replications. Other types of secondary research papers may also be
appropriate - if the author can make a compelling case for them. EPR no
longer welcomes book reviews.
If you are interested in submitting, or preparing to submit a
manuscript to EPR and would like to know if it may be appropriate,
please contact me. Also, if you would like to volunteer to review
manuscripts submitted to EPR, please send me an e-mail along with your
vita.
