No More Excuses

Every semester, you get one or two students who lose their syllabus. Then they don't hand in an assignment, expect it to be excused ("the dog ate my syllabus" effect), and fall behind in their work. Now, from the very first day of class, I make it known that students have 24-hour access to the syllabus over the WWW. They can go to the central library and log on there if they have to. I haven't had any student claim they couldn't do the assignment because they didn't have the syllabus!

Now, if I could just get the head of my department to read my memoes...
