Financing Your Graduate Education
Teaching Assistantships and Research Assistantships:
Many of our Movement Science graduate students receive financial support for their education in the form of Research (RA) and / or Teaching Assistantships (TA). These awards vary somewhat, but typically include reimbursement of some or all tuition and fees and a modest monthly stipend to cover cost of living. These awards are highly competitive. They are based on GPA, GRE scores, and letters of recommendation and are usually recommended through individual faculty members in the area of specialization. If you are interested in obtaining TA or RA support, please contact a member of the Movement Science faculty as soon as possible to discuss your interests.
Academic Fellowships:
The department also offers a small number of graduate fellowships each year. These awards also vary in amount and scope, but may include reimbursement of tuition and / or a modest one-time or monthly stipend to cover cost of living. Some of the smaller fellowships available may be offered in combination with TA and / or RA positions. All of these awards are highly competitive and based on GPA, GRE scores, and letters of recommendation. Students interested in these opportunities are strongly encouraged to contact a Movement Science faculty member as soon as possible in the application process to discuss your interests.
Applying for TAs, RAs, and Fellowships:
NOTE: To be considered for a TA or RA position or any graduate fellowships, students are strongly encouraged to have ALL application materials submitted no later than January 15.
