Google chat is a Google app which allows a user to instant message, talk or video-conference with other users.

General Information
Background
Google Chat is embedded with the gmail application. Google Talk is a client which can be downloaded onto a computer to stand separately from gmail. Currently it only works on PCs. iChat is an alternative for Mac users.
