FIT Research Facilities

FIT has different facilities available to meet various research needs. The Fitness Institute is housed in a 3,000 square facility and contains two DXA machines, 1 Bod Pod, 3 treadmills, 2 bench press & 2 leg press machines, 3 consultation areas, 6 computers, and a reception area.

• The Exercise Physiology Laboratory is an 1,800 square foot facility with all of the equipment needed to do metabolic testing. Primary equipment includes a metabolic cart, a treadmill, and a Lode bicycle ergometer.

• 

  The Cardiovascular Research Center includes 6 treadmills, 8 rowing machines, and a CompuTrainer with 8 bicycles. The 3,000 square foot center also includes 40 heart rate monitors, computers and software to download heart rate data, and flat screen televisions for projecting computer based cycling and running courses.

• The Video Game Research Center contains 4 Xbox 360  video game consoles with big screen TVs  along with a variety of exercise gaming videos in a 1,000 square foot space.

• The Weight Training Facility houses a large variety of free weights and machines in a 3,600 square hundred foot facility.
