FIT Develops Pre Work Routine for Custodial Workers

FIT developed and helped implement FIT START, a pre-work warm-up routine for all custodial workers at UT Austin. All custodial workers at UT now complete this program prior to their shift. Seventy-six percent of the custodial workers who responded to a survey, said that FIT START would benefit their health and performance at work.
FIT START won the Innovation Health Award at the OS1 Symposium held in Salt Lake Summer in the summer of 2011. In 2012 Association of Physical Plant Administrators Effective and Innovative Practices Award was given to UT Austin for its FIT START.
