Gridlock
The Mayor of the City of Gridlock asks the students to come up with a better way to control traffic in her city. While simulated cars travel through the simulated traffic grid, each student (or team of students) controls a traffic light at an intersection in the city. As students try out different local or global strategies for controlling the traffic, data and graphs related to traffic flow are generated. Over time students evaluate various strategies using metrics they create to measure the quality of traffic flow.
