I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Spanish Literature from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1992. In 2000, I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maryland at College Park.

As part of my doctorate training, I completed a one year internship in the Counseling Center at George Washington University in Washington D.C. After graduating, I completed all of the post-doc training hours and examination requirements for the state of Texas. I have been a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Texas in December, 2002.
