3) Targeted and tailored messages for depression: I am currently part of an NIMH sponsored research team led by Dr. Richard Kravitz, Director of the Center for Health Services Research in Primary Care at UC-Davis. The aim of this project is to develop Public Service Announcements that will improve on efforts to inform and educate the public about depression treatment.  These materials will eventually be field-tested to address their impact in primary care settings. More specifically, we will evaluating whether new approaches of educating the public about depression can impact the type of care patients are provided by physicians.   In the last year, we have been conducting focus groups with diverse community members in order to identify treatement barriers and optimal treatment messages that can be used in these materials.
