Mission of the College

Since 1891 when the College of Education was founded at The University of Texas at Austin, our mission has revolved around the three major priorities of teaching, research, and service to the state and nation. Through these endeavors, we have strived to prepare outstanding teachers, educational leaders, and other professionals for youth service and social service agencies, and to advance society's knowledge about teaching and learning.
