Our Mission
The Applied Learning and Development degree with EC-4 Generalist, EC-4 Bilingual, and All-level Generic Special Education certification programs prepare our graduates to design, use, and reflect on effective educational practices for use in varied settings with diverse student populations. Our graduates will master the subject matter knowledge and pedagogical skills necessary to address the learning needs of all students, pursue ongoing professional development opportunities throughout their careers, and work collaboratively with all stakeholders to teach students to be lifelong learners and to become participating citizens in the global community of the 21st century.
Our Educational Objectives
- Graduates of the Applied Learning and Development Program in the College of Education at The University of Texas at Austin will design, use, and reflect on effective teaching practices appropriate for diverse populations.
- Graduates of the Applied Learning and Development Program in the College of Education at The University of Texas at Austin will work collaboratively with all potential stakeholders involved in their students' education.
- Graduates of the Applied Learning and Development Program in the College of Education at The University of Texas at Austin will be advocates for their students.
- Graduates of the Applied Learning and Development Program in the College of Education at The University of Texas at Austin will engage in continuous professional development.
