Tasha Beretvas Department of Educational Psychology
Dr. Beretvas is an associate professor in the Department of Educational Psychology. Her research focuses on statistical/psychometric modeling with a focus on hierarchical linear modeling/multilevel modeling and meta-analytic procedures.
"My main area of study involves meta-analysis, which can be thought of as analysis of analyses," says Beretvas, who joined the College of Education in 2000. "If you're interested in summarizing results from numerous studies, it can get quite complicated, but with meta-analytic techniques you can summarize results from each study, synthesize the results across studies and explore sources of variability in the effects."
Dr. Beretvas teaches an undergraduate introductory course on statistics and graduate courses in correlation and regression, as well as factor analysis and meta-analysis. Among her many professional association affiliations, Beretvas is a member of the American Educational Research Association, the National Council on Measurement in Education, the American Psychological Association and the Southwest Educational Research Association.
