Welcome to the Foreign Language Education Program at The University of Texas

Foreign Language Education is an interdisciplinary graduate program offering MA and PhD programs in Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language, Foreign Language Education (Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, French, Japanese, German, Russian, Italian etc.), and Applied Linguistics. In addition to faculty from the Department of Curriculum & Instruction, FLE students work with outstanding faculty members from across the University in the areas of languages and language education. Students complete core courses in language learning, teaching, and assessment, research methodology, and their language of specialization. Many leaders in language education in the US and abroad have received their graduate training from this internationally recognized program.
