Educator, Attorney, Businessperson Lynda Frost Joins Educational Administration - September 28th, 2009
Dr. Lynda Frost
Attorney, educator and executive Dr. Lynda Frost has been named director of planning and programs at the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health and a clinical associate professor in the College of Education’s Department of Educational Administration at The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Gregory J. Vincent, vice president for diversity and community engagement, said, “Dr. Frost has been an effective, strong advocate for crucial mental health issues such as increasing cultural competency among service providers and minimizing the use of seclusion and restraint to control behavior. Doctoral students she mentors will benefit from her extensive knowledge, education and experience in academics, education and the law.”
As a clinical associate professor, Frost will work with doctoral students in the department’s educational policy and planning program. She previously taught at the University of Iowa, the University of Richmond, the University of Virginia and the American University in Cairo, Egypt.
Frost is an experienced administrator and attorney with legal expertise in human rights, juvenile justice, criminal law and mediation. She joined the Hogg Foundation in 2003 as associate director. In her new role as director, she will oversee major initiatives and grant programs, lead strategic and operational planning, and manage program staff.
Frost has a law degree and a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Iowa, a master’s degree in international education from Lesley College and a bachelor’s degree in English and American studies from Amherst College.
