Ten New Faculty Members Join College
The University of Texas at Austin’s College of Education heralds the beginning of the fall semester with the addition of nine new faculty members, who hold expertise in areas as diverse as sports team loyalty, inquiry based science, cerebellar function and dance instruction.
Please welcome the following new members to our college:
Department of Educational Psychology
Greg Allen
Associate Professor, School Psychology
Came from: University of Texas Southwester Medical Center at Dallas
Research interests/areas of focus: cerebellar function; the neurobiological basis of autism; cerebellar contributions to autism and Down syndrome; applications of MRI to the study of brain functional connectivity
Department of Curriculum and Instruction
Maria Franquiz
Associate Professor, Bicultural-Bilingual Studies
Came from: University of Texas at San Antonio
Research interests/areas of focus: biliteracy and multicultural education; classroom ethnography; critical literacy studies
Leema Kuhn
Assistant Professor, Science and Math Education
Came from: Northwestern University
Research interests/areas of focus: scientific explanation and argumentation; inquiry based science; fostering student driven scientific inquiry
Noah De Lisssovoy
Assistant Professor, Curriculum Studies
Came from: University of Texas at San Antonio
Research interests/areas of focus: conceptualizing oppression in educational theory; transformational consciousness; global culture
