Austin ISD and Round Rock ISD Placements
AISD and RRISD placements are made through the Education Services Office by using the Online Placement System (OPS). Teachers may be recruited during the dates listed in the Recruiting and Placement Timeline by supplying them with a Cooperating Teacher Application that they fill out, have signed by their principal, and submit to the district. Before the OPS opens, all of the available cooperating teachers are uploaded into the system. During the Placement Period, coordinators access the system and make placements. After the OPS closes at the end of the Placement Period, any new placements must be e-mailed to christalrosa@austin.utexas.edu using the Coordinator Placement Sheet.
Intern Placements
Cooperating teachers for intern placements should be marked in the OPS by the time the system closes. However, "TBD" student assignments are allowed to remain in the system as placeholders. Final CT/intern matches are due at the end of the semester. Please refer to the Recruiting and Placement Timeline for the specific due date.
Student Teacher Placements
Cooperating teachers for student teachers should be marked in the OPS with a specific student assigned by the time the system closes. The districts require names for these assignments in order to secure the CT. Any teachers that still have a "TBD" student teacher assignment after the system has closed will be released to other teacher certification programs. Please refer to the Recruiting and Placement Timeline for specific the due date.

Cooperating Teacher Applications
Cooperating teachers in AISD and RRISD must submit an application to the district in order to host a student in their classroom. The application must be signed by the principal and received by the district in order for the placement to be approved. A due date is listed on the application to ensure the teacher is available in the OPS by the time the system opens, but applications may still be submitted to the district after the due date. However, teachers whose applications are not in to the district by the time the OPS closes will not be available for UT placements until after the district has made placements for other teacher certification programs. If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact Christal Rosa. The CT applications below are pre-filled with "UT Austin" as the preferred entity. You should pre-fill the preferred faculty member line with your name before you give it to the teacher.
Online Placement System (OPS)
This system allows you to access a list of available AISD and RRISD cooperating teachers for the upcoming semester. It opens and closes on specific dates and does not re-open again for that semester. A UT EID is required to access the system, and you must be authorized by the Education Services Office to use it. All University Coordinators are automatically authorized. University Facilitators must attend a training session with Christal Rosa before they will be granted access. For more information, please contact Christal Rosa at (512) 471-1511 or christalrosa@austin.utexas.edu.
Access the Online Placement System
(opens April 3)
Please note: When this system is closed, it goes into "read-only" mode. If it's before the system opens, it will show the current semester's placements. If it's after the system closes, it will show the upcoming semester's placements.
Other District Placements
All non-AISD/RRISD placements must be made directly with the district through their placement coordinator. Below are the placement coordinators for the other districts (TEA considers Charter Schools as "districts." Contact Christal Rosa for charter school contact information). Once the placement is confirmed, e-mail the information to Christal Rosa using the Coordinator Placement Sheet.

Primary Coordinators
Certain AISD and RRISD elementary schools have a primary coordinator assigned who has priority when making placements there. Before making any placements in an elementary school in these districts, please consult the list of primary coordinators. If the school has a primary coordinator, check with him/her before making any placements at that school. If you are interested in being the primary coordinator for a school that doesn't have one, please contact Christal Rosa.
