Career Fair Interviews

Each semester, over 100 recruiters attend the Teacher Career Fair. Interviews are scheduled at the recruiter’s request during the afternoons of the fall and spring fairs. Overflow interviews may be conducted in the days following each Career Fair, depending on demand and scheduling availability. Recruiters from Texas, surrounding states and the Peace Corps are just a few of the people we invite to participate in our post-fair interviews. A typical interview can last 25-30 minutes on average, but the length of individual interviews varies from recruiter to recruiter.

Education Career Services can help students make the most of the career fair experience. Students planning to attend the Fair should contact Education Career Services early in the semester for assistance with creating an effective résumé, as well as career fair preparation and interview tips.

On the day of the fair, students should dress professionally and take multiple copies of their 1 to 2-page "snapshot" résumés to share with recruiters. Each résumé that a student passes out will increase the likelihood of an invitation to interview. DO NOT bring cover letters, transcripts, or portfolios to the fair.
