Students interested in pursuing a major in the College of Education, must first be admitted to the University. All prospective transfer students and freshmen must apply through the UT Office of Admissions and be admitted prior to registering for courses. The phone number for Admissions is (512) 475-7399 (for transfer/readmitted students) and (512) 475-7440 (for freshmen). All the necessary application materials are available online at Be A Longhorn.
Once a student is admitted to the University, he/she should meet with an Academic Advisor in the College of Education to declare their major (if they did not do so on the original application) and to pick up the appropriate degree plans. If you are a prospective transfer student, be sure to bring a copy of your transcripts with you to the initial meeting so the advisor can tell you how many non-UT credits may be counted toward your degree.
Students interested in the College of Education at The University of Texas at Austin are encouraged to attend one of our information sessions. (Families are welcome!)
