Meet EDDIE the Mascot for the College of Education
Who is EDDIE?
EDDIE is the biggest fan of the College of Education! He’s the symbol of student philanthropy in the College of Education. He’s a joint project of the Education Council and College of Education Development Office and serves to promote unity, celebrate diversity and represent the college to The University of Texas at Austin community.
EDDIE represents the spirit of all students, faculty and staff in the College of Education. Having a mascot brings the college together and makes our students feel more united with a common symbol. EDDIE’s brand is expanding to our alumni, as EDDIE moves out and starts to change the world.
After research with student focus groups, Students Hooked on Texas, and other UT colleges and schools, the decision was made by a student committee to create a mascot for the College of Education. EDDIE was “hatched” on April 29, 2010.
EDDIE is all about celebrating the success and pride of the College of Education through fun contests and events. Current contests and celebrations:
