Intro to the Master's Program in Learning Disabilities and Behavioral Disorders

Students admitted to the master’s program in the Department of Special Education in Learning Disabilities and Behavioral Disorders (LD/BD) typically begin their studies in the fall semester. Students may elect to attend on a full or part-time basis. There are three master’s degree options for students in the LD/BD program. These options include completing the degree as: an M.Ed with coursework, an M.Ed with report, or an M.A. with thesis. Each of these programs requires 36 hours of coursework or experiences. Depending on the option that you choose, your coursework will be aligned appropriately. Previous academic preparation should include at least 12 hours of coursework in the social sciences or education. If lacking adequate background, newly admitted students may be required to complete prerequisites. We hope to see you as a student in the Department of Special Education at The University of Texas at Austin. Hook ‘em!
