Are you interested in pursuing a doctoral degree that will provide you with cutting-edge training for conducting research and practice with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities? In the doctoral Autism and Developmental Disabilities program, we strive to provide students with teaching, research, and clinical training experiences that will prepare them for careers in academia and/or clinical-based settings. Overview

The Ph.D. degree requires a minimum of 72 credit hours and generally takes three to four years of full-time study to complete. Students develop their own individualized program of study in consultation with their Academic Advisor and the Graduate Advisor. The program of study includes work in core areas including a specialization core, a content core, a research core, a professional core, an interdisciplinary core, dissertation, and professional activities beyond coursework (e.g., supervision of student teachers, presentation at professional conferences, submitting manuscripts for publication, teaching at the undergraduate level).
