Tenth Floor Study Area

In August 2006, the Kinesiology and Health Education Department opened its brand new Advising and Career Services Center in Bellmont Hall (BEL), Room 1005. The mission of the Center is:

To provide Kinesiology and Health Education students the necessary resources to successfully navigate their academic careers, as well as exploring career opportunities for students in the field of Kinesiology and Health Education through hands-on professional advising, counseling, workshops, and career fairs.

The Advising and Career Center's hours are Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM and students are seen on an appointment basis.  

Along with the Advising and Career Services Center, there is also a Student Lounge in BEL 1005.  The lounge is open Monday – Friday from 8 AM – 5 PM.  There are plenty of tables for students to use while studying alone or in small groups.  The Lounge also has a media-scape, multiple computer stations, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a TV to keep students entertained when they are not studying.  During the final exam periods, there are mandatory “quiet hours” in the lounge so that everyone can successfully prepare for upcoming exams.

The Kinesiology and Health Education Advising and Career Services staff is always working on improving the services they offer to students.  The goal is to provide the outstanding customer service to students, faculty, staff, and all visitors to the center.  If anyone has an idea or a suggestion for the department or the 10th floor Center, there is a Suggestion Box located near the front desk in BEL 1005.  Students can anonymously submit their ideas or suggestions for the department and the staff to consider.
