The Sport and Life Quality (SLQ) lab, housed on the University of Texas campus, is dedicated to researching, advancing, and disseminating knowledge related to how individuals, families, and communities who are involved with sport can experience improved life quality. Under the direction of Dr. Marlene Dixon, the SLQ staff has reached and impacted a broad audience. Projects have thus far spanned across four continents and have focused on a variety of life quality issues including strengthening families, building communities, and improving work environments. By critically examining the interaction between sport and individuals, families, and communities, the SLQ lab supports the mission of the University of Texas. What starts in this lab is truly changing the world.
