Profile
As of January 2013, I have begun my 48th year of teaching! Over the years, I have covered all levels of teaching from kindergarten through university ages, the most recent (before UT) being 25 years in Austin elementary schools. I have been part time at UT since 2000.
My B. S. is from The University of Illinois and my M. Ed. is here at The University of Texas at Austin. I also have mid-management certification from then, Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos.
Honors: Texas Association of Health, Physical Education, Recretion, and Dance Pathfinder Award Dec. 2011
(given for helping to support girls and women in sports)
Teacher of the Year: Oak Hill Elementary School in Austin, Texas
Outside of teaching:
√Was counselor and program director at Harand Camp of the Theatre Arts in Wisconsin for over 40 years.
√Sang with the Austin Lyric Opera Chorus for 18 years (40+ productions)
√Am president of the Austin Civic Chorus (two years) and chorus member (nine years)
√Win many trophies walking in races in town (mainly because no one else is in my age group!!!) I have
participated in all but the first Capitol 10,000 races. This year will be 33rd, I believe.
