Profile
Bob Heere is an accomplished researcher who has held academic positions in New Zealand, the Netherlands and the United States, His primary research interests are in consumer behavior, particularly on (brand) community development and identity formation in and through sports. He has conducted research on communities and groups on five different continents, in nations such as New Zealand, Japan, China, Great Britain, Serbia, South Africa, and the United States among others. He has published articles in journals such as the Journal of Sport Management, Sport Management Review, European Sport Management Quarterly, Sport Marketing Quarterly, Journal of Business Ethics, and the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice. He serves on the editorial board of Sport Marketing Quarterly. In 2012, he published his first book Het Olympisch Speeltje, providing a critical view on the current Dutch ambition to host the 2028 Summer Olympics, for which he received much acclaim in the Dutch press media. He currently is involved with research projects with the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners, Fulham FC Foundation, and the Multi-cultural Refugee Coalition in Austin.
