Admissions & Off-Campus Transfers

To become a major in Kinesiology and Health Education, students must first be admitted to the University. All off-campus applicants (transfer students and freshmen) must apply through the regular UT Office of Admissions prior to registering for courses. The phone number for Admissions is (512) 475-7399 (For transfer/readmitted students) and (512) 475-7440 (for freshmen). All the necessary application materials are available on-line at the web address for the Office of Admissions.

Once a student is admitted to the University he/she should meet with an academic advisor in Bellmont (BEL) 1005 to declare their major (if they did not do so on the original application) and to pick up the appropriate degree plans. If you are a transfer student, be sure to bring a copy of your transcripts with you to this initial meeting so our degree evaluators can tell you how many non-UT credits may be counted toward your degree.

Students interested in Kinesiology and Health Education at The University of Texas at Austin are encouraged to attend one of our information sessions. These sessions provide an introduction to our majors and can answer questions about all programs. (Families are welcome!)

Dates for the Prospective Student Information Sessions in Spring 2012 are:

  • Friday, January 27 at 2pm in BEL 1005
  • Friday, February 17 at 2pm in SZB 216
  • Friday, March 9 at 2pm in SZB 216
  • Friday, April 13 at 2pm in BEL 1005

To sign up for an information session go to: http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/s/event.warn.php?visit=1

Students already enrolled at a different College/School within UT that would like to transfer to the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education should refer to our Internal Transfer Policy.
