Graduate Application Deadlines

A limited number of students will be admitted to each graduate program each year and these admissions are highly competitive.  All students are therefore strongly encouraged to submit their application materials as early as possible.

Many decisions about financial assistance are made before the final deadlines for admissions applications.  Students applying for Fall semester (late August) admission and who wish to be given priority consideration for departmental financial support should submit all of their application materials no later than the dates listed below.  These deadlines apply to all graduate program areas (Exercise Physiology, Health Education, Sport Management, and Movement Science).

January 15	To receive consideration for all forms of financial assistance, including fellowships and teaching and/or research assistantships.
February 15	To receive priority consideration for teaching and/or research assistantships

 

Students who miss these deadlines may still apply for Fall semester admission, based on the deadlines listed below.  However, fewer opportunities for obtaining departmental financial support will be available to students applying by these later dates.  Students enhance their chances of being admitted and of obtaining financial support by submitting all of their application materials by the priority application deadlines listed above (January 15 or February 15).

Students who wish to be considered for admission should submit all of their application materials (see below) no later than the date listed below for the program to which they are applying:

May 1	Sport Management* (see note below)
June 1	Movement Science
July 1	Health Education, Exercise Physiology, Exercise and Sport Psychology, Interdisciplinary Sport Studies, and the General Masters Program

Students applying for Spring semester (January) admission should submit all of their application materials (see below) no later than October 1 of the preceding year.

*Sport Management Applicants - Masters applicants may only apply for Fall admission. Doctoral applicants may apply for Fall or Spring admissions.
