Former UT Student Y. Joel Wong Appointed Associate Editor

Dr. Y. Joel Wong, a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin's Counseling Psychology program (Ph.D., '07) recently was appointed to a three-year term as associate editor for the American Psychological Association journal Psychology of Men and Masculinity (PMM).

The journal disseminates research and theory about the influence of sex and gender on the psychology of men. Wong, currently an associate professor at Indiana University, was appointed to the position for a three-year term.

"Dr. Wong’s research is of sustained quality and clearly shows a developing sophistication in both the elaboration of theory and the development of measurement strategies," said Dr. Ronald Levant, editor of PMM.

Dr. Aaron Rochlen, Wong’s former adviser and a professor in educational psychology, added, “I'm pleased, but not surprised, that Dr. Wong's success and production as a scholar has continued since his graduation from UT.  I'm certain he will excel in this position. Frankly, Joel has made our program look very good over the years and we are quite proud of him."
