EDP/KIN Currently Recruiting Professor to Lead New CoE Center

Professor to create and lead Center for Health & Learning Sciences. The College of Education at The University of Texas at Austin is committed to becoming a leader in research on the interrelatedness of health and learning as part of its larger mission to transform education in Texas and the nation. To achieve this aim, we seek a dynamic senior professor and scientist to create and lead a Center for Health and Learning Sciences.  The Center would serve as a synergistic unit to attract and facilitate research development, funding, and translational sciences related to understanding and promoting health and learning-related outcomes, as well as health disparities.

The successful candidate will have a strong record of external funding in health or health-related educational research who is interested in not only continuing their scholarship but also developing the infrastructure capacity for cutting-edge, interdisciplinary health and education research across departments within the College and between the College and other external systems, including hospitals.

The Director of the Center will be a tenured Full Professor with a joint faculty appointment in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education and the Department of Educational Psychology. An endowed chair or professorship may accompany the academic appointment depending on the candidate’s qualifications. The Center Director would report to the Associate Dean of the College of Education. A strong commitment to mentoring junior faculty is expected. Some classroom teaching may be expected. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
