Gallessich Dissertation Award Recipients, 2012-2013

The June Marie Gallessich Dissertation Award in Educational Psychology was endowed in 2007 to “support one or more PhD students in the Counseling Program during semesters when they are working on their required dissertation.” Traditionally, the faculty has focused on a combination of research merit and economic need to carry out the proposed study as a means of determining the award winners. The CP faculty is proud to announce two winners this year. Shannon E. McClain's dissertation on racial-ethnic disparities in academic achievement and Betsy Crowe's dissertation on social integration, perceived social support, and depression in college students across socioeconomic status will both be funded. Please join the CP faculty in congratulating these students on their excellent proposals and wish them let in completing their dissertations.
