Cawthon Promoted to Associate Professor
Dr. Stephanie Cawthon has been awarded tenure and promoted to Associate professor effective Fall, 2013. Dr. Cawthon started working as an assistant professor in the School Psychology program UT in the fall semester, 2007, and has quickly become an indispensable member of that program. Her primary research interests are strategies that increase access to education for students from diverse backgrounds, educational policy reform, and issues that affect postsecondary outcomes for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Dr. Cawthon's work is supported by the US Office of Special Education Programs, private foundations and school districts around Texas. Dr. Cawthon has published over 40 research articles and book chapters and regularly presents at national and international professional meetings. Dr. Cawthon's recent book, Accountability Reforms and Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, was recognized as book of the year by Exceptionality Education International.
