Licensure and Certification

Graduates of Counselor Education complete a minimum of 51 hours of graduate course work making them eligible for the Master’s of Education in Educational Psychology with a specialization in Counselor Education. As part of their program of work, students can select courses that meet the requirements for applying to become Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. School counseling students meet the course requirements for applying to become certified school counselors in the State of Texas.
