Deadlines and Process for Cohort Application
and Selection for Admission

September through November

Nominations accepted for the following summer’s cohort. It is preferred that candidates be nominated by an educational leader familiar with his/her work, but self-nominations are also accepted. Nominations may be submitted online at www.utprincipalship.org, or by email to principalship@austin.utexas.edu

October through November

Notification packets sent to nominated candidates. Nominated candidates must register to attend an Orientation Session.

It is strongly recommended that unless nominated candidates have GRE scores within the last five years that they register to take the GRE when first notified of nomination.

December

Required attendance at one

Information/Orientation Session dates 12/10/09 and 12/12/09.

Work toward completing application portfolios.

Portfolio requirements will be shared at Orientation.

Submit a check for $30.00 payable to UT Austin with the completed portfolio to Sanchez Room 310F.

February 1st

Candidate Application to the Graduate School (GIAC) and Department Due

In order to be considered for a Site Visit all university and departmental application requirements must be received including:

• 3 letters of reference (one must be from current supervisor)
• Statement of Purpose
• GRE scores
• Official transcripts
• Candidate Application Portfolios 
• Completed graduate studies application

February

Notification to candidates selected for site visits and site visits scheduled

FAFSA deadline to receive financial aid during the summer. More information available at website: http://finaid.utexas.edu

March

Final selection completed. Official notification sent to candidates from Graduate Advisor.

Acceptance deadline for new students

UT Transition Camp for incoming Cohort Principalship Program Members. All students accepted into the program are expected to attend this weekend session. Dates TBA
