Admission Requirements
Graduate and International Admissions Center Requirements
You must apply online with the Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC).
The following must be completed or submitted:
- Complete the online ApplyTexas application - This is the fastest, easiest way for you to submit your application and is GIAC's preferred method for receiving applications.
- Pay your non-refundable application fee.
- Submit official transcripts to GIAC. Transcripts of all attempted undergraduate work should be sent directly from the registrar of each college and university attended to GIAC. Photocopies or transcripts submitted directly by the applicant are not acceptable.
- Submit an official GRE test score to
GIAC. These scores must be sent directly from the Educational Testing
Service (ETS) to GIAC. Photocopies are not acceptable. GRE scores older
than 5 years are not valid. Please visit the Educational Testing Service (ETS) site for more information on taking the GRE.
Note: (If you are applying as a non-degree seeker, GRE test scores are not required).
Departmental Requirements
The following must be completed or submitted to our Department:
- A minimum GPA of 3.00 for all upper-division and graduate coursework
- Applicant Information Sheet (Electronic Version | download paper form)
- Current Resume
- Three (3) Reference Forms with three (3) Letters of Recommendation - (See this link for instructions on completing the top section of the Reference Form.)
- Statement of Purpose - please provide a paper copy of your Statemement of Purpose that was submitted to GIAC
