Central Texas Leadership Development Alliance

The University of Texas at Austin has been awarded a three year grant from the US Department of Education.  This grant will strengthen the university’s partnerships with area school districts by expanding a model for leadership development schools and increasing the model's use with high-needs districts.  The CTLDA also supports effective leadership preparation through ongoing research and dissemination of findings.

Study of High School Restructuring

The Houston A+ Challenge (HA+C) received funding from the Carnegie Corporation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, supplemented by the Annenberg Foundation and the Brown Foundation, to support a 5-year initiative to work with 24 large high schools in the Houston Independent School District engaged in a student-focused, whole-school change effort. The initiative, called the Study of High School Restructuring, redesigns high schools into small, theme-based academies to produce graduates ready for the demands of the 21st century.

The University of Texas Center for Collaborative Educational Research and Policy (UTCCERP)

 The University of Texas Center for Collaborative Educational Research and Policy (UTCCERP) is a jointly established research collaborative comprised of three University of Texas System campuses (Austin, San Antonio and Pan American) and Texas State University - San Marcos. The UTTCERP is funded by a $1 million grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) to establish a research center that will report findings on critical education issues in Texas.
