UTAPP Servant Leader Award
The University of Texas at Austin
Principalship Program (UTAPP) Servant Leader Award is presented annually to a
servant leader in recognition of exemplary service and committed leadership.
The first recipient of the award was Dr. Ann O’Doherty, former Clinical Assistant Professor with Department of Educational Administration at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. O’Doherty embodied the tenets of servant leadership throughout her time with the department. A celebrated public school leader in Texas, Dr. O’Doherty played integral roles in research and instruction while with the Principalship Program. She made it clear to her students, through her teaching and mentorship, that collaboration, empathy, and service compose the core of effective leadership.
