June 2013 AUSTIN-area Program 

The University of Texas at Austin Principalship Program (UTAPP) will accept NOMINATIONS through November 30, 2012 for the 2013 Austin-area Cohort. Classes begin June 10, 2013.

UTAPP offers a 45-hour Master of Education program

  • 24 month (2 year) program (12 hours per summer session and one course per fall and spring semesters)
  • All coursework conducted via blended delivery of face-to-face and technology-supported classes
  • Cohorts of up to 24 members
  • Project-based learning design focused on instructional leadership combining current theory with active knowledge and skill development
  • Coaching and internship support
  • Up to $5000 in scholarships available

Who is eligible?

Basic Candidate Requirements

  • BA from an accredited college
  • Two years teaching experience or related educational leadership experience

Preferred Experiences

  • Four years teaching experience or related educational leadership experience
  • Knowledge and application of instructional best practices
  • Demonstrated evidence of teacher leadership
  • Ability to critically analyze educational leadership experience
  • Master teachers who have been selected by their principals
  • Members of the campus instructional leadership team who have been selected by principals
  • Leaders selected by other ISD educational leaders including central office personnel.

Note: Teacher leaders at any school level are welcome to apply, but candidates must indicate an interest in leading at middle and/or high school level.
