Program Introduction

The Educational Policy and Planning Masters Program (EPP) prepares leaders for careers in policy analysis. Students who complete the Masters with an emphasis in Educational Policy will be prepared for work in state capitols, think tanks, or consulting agencies.

This multidisciplinary masters program provides students with academic and applied understanding of the public policy process. The course work prepares students for career paths in policy analysis and public service leadership for governmental and private institutions. Course work includes core classes in foundations of policy analysis and implementation, qualitative and quantitative research methods, and 12 hours in a specialization topic of the student’s choice. Specialization topics include public administration, quantitative research and qualitative research.

In many cases, students elect to pursue a doctorate in Educational Policy after the completion of their masters program. These students will have the opportunity to work alongside a professor to pursue research interests.
