There are no undergraduate students in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Students interested in Teaching Certification should apply to the appropriate undergraduate program in the College of Education for the certification they seek. Teacher Certification is a separate program from the graduate level programs.

Graduate Students

Teacher Certification

Information about teaching certification can be obtained through the Teacher Certification program in the College of Education. Teacher certification is a separate program from the graduate level programs, and it is not included in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction graduate degree programs.

Application Procedures

Prospective C&I students should apply for Graduate Study through the Graduate and International Admissions Center, as well as submit supporting materials directly to our department. Check the Application Procedures area of the C&I website for detailed information regarding admissions criteria, deadlines and procedures. The C&I Graduate Brochure is also availabe for download in this area of the website.

Degree Programs

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction provides Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Education (M.Ed.), Doctor of Education (Ed.D.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree programs. There are five areas of specialization. This area of the web site was created to list and describe the degrees offered by the C&I department.

Financial Assistance

A limited number of applicants are chosen each year for nomination of a University Preemptive Fellowship. Also available to qualified students are graduate teaching and research assistantships. This area of the web site was created to list financial assistance information for incomming and current graduate assistance. Related (financial assistance) links have also been listed in this area.
