The Physical Education Teacher Education program specialization is designed to develop expert teachers, curriculum developers, instructional leaders, teacher educators, and researchers in the field of Physical Education. Our graduate physical educators and teacher educators will become leaders in the field and have the knowledge, skills, commitment, and cultural competency to guide our youth in the process of becoming healthy lifetime participants in physical activity. This program has a unique focus on developing cultural competency and utilization of technology in Physical Education through access to a wide array of course offerings in our Cultural Studies in Education and Instructional Technology programs. The Physical Education Teacher Education program is committed to preparing future physical educators, teacher educators, and researchers that are prepared for diverse educational experiences, and willing to prepare others for an increasingly diverse school population. Students may also enrich their educational experiences through courses in the areas of Bilingual/Bicultural Education, Curriculum Studies, and Kinesiology and opportunities to be involved in research projects in the schools.
