FACULTY RESEARCH INTERESTS
Foreign Language Education (FLE) is an internationally recognized
interdisciplinary graduate program offering M.A. and Ph.D. programs in Teaching
English as a Second/Foreign Language and Foreign Language Education (Spanish,
Arabic, Japanese, German, etc.). FLE prepares language teachers, teacher
educators, researchers, and supervisors of second/foreign language programs. FLE students work with outstanding faculty
members from across the University completing core courses in language teaching
methodology, second language acquisition, research methodology, and their
language of specialization. Current FLE faculty research focuses on language
learning strategy instruction, pronunciation and vocabulary development, second
language reading and writing, program evaluation, new technologies for language
instruction, intercultural development, and individual differences in language
learning.
