Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

This area of study provides advanced degrees that are appropriate for students whose ability, motivation, and experience will allow them to become leaders in the field, in the capacity of teachers of young children, college or university faculty members, and program or curriculum developers in schools and agencies. Degree plans require work in general curriculum and instruction; early childhood education; child development and learning theory, educational research, and evaluation. Students may include courses in supervision or administration in their programs.
